Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,other times there were one set of footprints. This bothered me because I noticedthat during the low periods of my life,when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat,I could see only one set of footprints. So I said to the Lord,"You promised me Lord,that if I followed you,you would walk with me always.But I have noticed that duringthe most trying periods of my lifethere have only been oneset of footprints in the sand.Why, when I needed you most,you have not been there for me?" 對於某些事，我們常急於探索、追尋，想要獲得答案，殊不知人生中有許多問題在當下也許沒有答案，有些則可能因為歷練和智慧還不足，所以不知道答案。
讀到德語詩人Rainer Maria Rilke
寫給青年詩人Franz Xaver Kappus的一段話，深有同感，與大家分享： "
...to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don't search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer. Perhaps you do carry within you the possibility of creating and forming, as an especially blessed and pure way of living; train your for that - but take whatever comes, with great trust, and as long as it comes out of your will, out of some need of your innermost self, then take it upon yourself, and don't hate anything."

「東西自有生命，只要喚醒它們的靈魂」。馬奎斯《百年孤寂》中，用磁鐵讓金屬物品隨之起舞的吉普賽人如是說。這裡的靈魂，應該是指物的特性。
大自然中的一草一木、一山一石，無一沒有它們的故事：它們身上有著歲月的軌跡，也紀錄著環境狀態的改變，只要我們懂得「讀」它，它能告訴我們許多事情。
