一出門就看見有心人拿著起司刨絲器在雪地上刻字

前幾天深夜，紐約下了場今年最大的暴風雪，全市停班、停課， 商店也都提早打烊...

朋友打電話來，提醒我沒事別出門，但拗不過窗外美麗的雪景， 等風雪較小，我還是決定出門走走，享受一下雪天僅有、 一種難以言喻的靜謐。

Footprints in the Sand
(written by Mary Stevenson, 1936)

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.
 
This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.
 
So I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"
 
The Lord replied,
 "The times when you have
 seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
 is when I carried you."


沙灘上的足印

有一晚我作了個夢
我與主沿著沙灘走
我的人生際遇閃現天際
在每一幕中　我看見沙灘上有著足印
有時有兩雙　有時只有一對

這令我困惑不安
在我人生最低潮
當我正為挫敗悲痛所苦
我只看見一雙足印

我問主：
「主啊　你曾應許我
　若我決志跟隨祢　祢將會與我同在
　但我發現在我人生最窘困的時候
　我在沙灘上只見一雙足印
　我不解　為何在我最需要祢時　祢放我一人獨行」

主回應：
「你所見的那雙足印　是我背著你行走的印記」
