"Through the Valley" by Dawn Waters Baker

Description
This is my most recent painting, "Through the Valley." on Psalm 23:4, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for thou are with me..." Can you see the skull in the rocks and the boney hand on the other side of the rocks? That's my little daughter climbing into my husband's hands but supposed to be God's hands and us as His "sheep", His helpless children that need his protection and guidance. He's cupping us up in his hand like a little bird. God painted pure blue (for his holiness and cleansing power), we are painted blue/grey/white to depict the colors of the sheep but also our nature as we are sinful and good at the same time.

這幅是我最近的作品「行過死蔭幽谷」。聖經詩篇23篇第四節說：「我雖行過死蔭幽谷，也必不怕遭害，因為祢與我同在，祢杖祢竿都安慰我。」
你們是否在畫作中的石壁上，看到骷髏頭？是否也看到在石壁另一端骨瘦如柴的手？那是我小女兒攀爬在我先生的手上，但我把它比擬作上帝的手，還有我們這些羔羊、這些無助而需要祂保守看顧、指引的兒女。祂的手掌成杯狀，將我們像小鳥一樣捧住。把上帝的手畫成藍色，是為了表現祂神聖潔淨的力量；而用羔羊的藍/灰/白色顏色來表現我們自己，代表我們雖有原罪，但我們也是良善的。
後記：
我不是基督徒，但是聖經詩篇23篇這幾句話，還有用這篇經文所譜成的歌曲深深感動我。網路上隨便一孤狗，發現這些話也感動過許多人。在為文章尋找插圖的時候，看到這幅寓意甚深的畫，便把它放了上來。
